Leadlight apparent at No’s 1, 21, 23, & 24
The legacy of the original Brunswick Parade subdivision (1892) is still visible in the figure of eight layout of the street with areas reserved in the middle for parkland. Much of the original housing has been replaced on the south side with unit development. The leadlight that does remain exemplifies the influence of the Federation Period and early Californian Bungalow Interwar period.
Brunswick Parade
Number 1 is a Californian Bungalow and has a three panel casement window. The design is interesting because it has a strip of pastel yellow and glass around the top of each panel. In this strip there are small green squares on the corners and in the middle of the vertical. The focus has the appearance of a coat hanger from which three red teardrops are hung. While the design is largely geometric it is quite soft and appealing. There is a small window on the south side with circular design.
