Carlisle Street

Main Period: Victorian -  Federation

Leadlight apparent at No’s 1, 3, 7, 21, 26, 27, 32, 38 & 48

Carlisle Street was subdivided as part of the Carlisle Estate in 1892 There is a mixture of housing dating from the 1890’s to the current period. There a variety of single and two storey homes, grand Victorian residences to weatherboard cottages, Federation homes to Interwar Californian Bungalows, and many have been significantly altered. The Italianate/Spanish balcony at No 26 is unusual and very original.

Carlisle Street

No 1 is a Californian Bungalow. It has three panel casement window with a square of beveled glass as the focus point in each panel. There is an absence of colour with the design emphasized using textured glass of various types.
