The initial development of Calvert Street is shown on a deposited plan, dated 1882, in the State Library of NSW that indicates Calvert Street existed prior to this date. The numerous subdivision plans to the right show that development occurred through the 1880’s, 90’s (through the depression of the early 1890's) and through till the early Federation years with the Fernbank Estate of 1903.
Most of the houses in Calvert are modest cottages and leadlight was rarely used in such houses.
