HURLSTONE PARK

Hurlstone Avenue

Main Period: Federation - Interwar

Leadlight apparent at No’s 6, 19 & 25

Most of the houses in Hurlstone Avenue were built after the end of WW1 at the start of the Californian Bungalow Age. Only a small number of examples of leadlight from this period remains but it is indicative of this transitional period.

Hurlstone was part of the last of the Jeffrey's Estate Subdivisions in 1917 at the end of World War One.

Hurlstone Avenue

No 6 is an early Bungalow (c.1920) with leadlight in a three panel casement on the left using that unusual design again.
