The 1919 Petersham Heights subdivision of Campbell’s Estate shows that the Federation era houses on the northern side of Jesmond Avenue were already built. Subdivision plans for Jesmond Avenue have not been located but the houses all appear to have been built before 1914. It is a very short street but has some beautiful examples of Federation era leadlight.

Jesmond Avenue

No 1 is a Federation house (c.1908) with leadlight in the front door panels and fanlight. The design is somewhat unusual as it appears to use design elements that are more Victorian (geometric shapes and rondels) but it is done in a manner that suggests the influence of Art Nouveau.
