Keith Street

Main Period: Federation -

Leadlight apparent at

Keith Street was part of the Wardell Estate subdivision in 1895, the year the railway station opened at Wardell Road. Now it is a mixture of well preserved Federation homes and Interwar Flats.

Keith Street

No 1 Keith Street is an Interwar block of flats with stunning Art Deco leadlight. There are two stunning beautiful full-length doors with heavily textured glass and bevelled glass triangles and bold opaque glass to the entrance. There are three panel double hung windows on the right and left of the ground floor and 1st floor with a very strong radiant pattern. It appears that almost all windows apart from the bathroom windows in this block of flats including the small windows and all the other sets of double hung windows all have beautiful leadlight in them. This is a ‘must see!’
