Leadlight of Inner Western Sydney

It cannot be without coincidence that Earle Avenue and Page Avenue were subdivided at the same time in 1923 and that together they form the name of the 11th Prime Minister of Australia for 19 days in 1939. The only association I can find with Ashfield is that he married Ethel Blunt at Ashfield in 1906. Like Earle Avenue, it is a tree lined street that runs between Henry Street and Parramatta Road. It is a street full of Interwar Californian bungalows all built about the same time in the mid 1920 so the street, like those in Ashbury, has a reasonably consistent feel about it.
