Leadlight of Inner Western Sydney

Park Avenue was initially known as Swanson Street when most of the lots were 80 feet wide (which is almost 27 metres, huge) and then seems to have been subdivided again as part of the Education Park Estate in 1882. As with many streets in Ashfield it is tree lined and has housing styles from large Victorian/Federation terraces, small weatherboard cottages , a few Federation houses and Californian Bungalows, Interwar flats and a few old shops that have been converted to residences.
