Queen Street

Main Period: Federation - Interwar

Leadlight apparent at No’s 2, 13, 25 & 33.

Development in Queen Street took place around just after Federation in 1903. Lots in Queen Street are shown in the Fernbank Estate auctioned in 1903. The lots were very narrow (20ft or 6.1 metres). The sketch plan of the Fernbank Estate was mot likely to have been drawn up prior to the auction of the Fernbank Estate.

Queen Street

No 2 is a Californian bungalow (c.1922) with leadlight in a four panel casement window facing east and in another four panel casement window at the front of the house. The design uses a large bevelled glass square as the focus. This is surrounded by a circular wreath of green highlighted with blue, red and orange glass. This is a very elegant design.
