Leadlight apparent at No’s

Tilcock Street

Almost all of Tillock Street was released in 1913 as part of the 'Dobroyd Estate'. The lots not sold in the first auction were  put up for auction again in 1915 and it would appear that most of the houses built in Tillock Street were built after 1915. It is another tree lined street in Haberfield but strangely, some of the trees are in the nature strip and others in the street itself. There are some great examples of leadlight from the late-Federation period through to a range of designs in Californian Bungalows.

Tilcock Street

No 2 is a Californian Bungalow with leadlight in a three panel casement window on the left and a three panel casement window on the verandah and in the front door panel. The design in the windows used heavily textured glass in the bottom quarter with a floral and fluid design. The colour palette is unusual and this can be seen in the front door panel.
