Yasmar Avenue

Main Period: Federation - Interwar

Leadlight apparent at No’s 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 20, 22 & 25

Yasmar is Ramsey spelt backwards! There had been a Yasmar Street to the north of Ramsay Street but that was changed to Rawson Street leaving just Yasmar Avenue in Stanton's No 3 Subdivision of the Haberfield Estate in 1905. Some of the beautiful Federation houses have retained some great leadlight. The entrance ensemble at No 2 is superb while the asymmetrical leadlight designs at No's 3, 5 & 11 are well worth seeing.

Yasmar Avenue

No 2 is a Federation house (1910)with an absolutely fantastic entrance.  The double doors of the entrance are set in a wonderful arched entrance so that the sidelights, tops and fanlight are all set into the arch with some beautiful joinery. The leadlight in all the panels has a lovely Art Nouveau feel to it. It’s a quite spectacular entrance.
