ASHFIELD

Armstrong Street

Main Period: Federation -  Interwar

Leadlight apparent at No’s 5, 7, 17, 19, 21, 29, 33, 36 & 38

Armstrong Street runs between Queen Street and Holden Street and can get quite busy with traffic. Houses on the east side are pre-World War 1 while those on the western side tend to be post WW1 with more Californian Bungalows and Interwar Bungalows. There are some good examples of leadlight from these times in Armstrong Street.

Armstrong Street

No 5 has a five panel double hung square bay window and a three panel double hung window on the verandah. All the top panels have a radiant pattern using textured glass radiating downwards and outwards from a square of bevelled glass.
