Leadlight apparent at No’s 4, 17, 27, 35, 51 & 53.
All the lots in Charles Street were offered for sale in the 1882 auction of the Beer’s Estate. Mr Beer is shown as owning a large block in Horton Street and is likely to have owned all the land in this auction. The Cottages are shown in the 1914 auction of the Addison Estate in 1914. Charles Street is a short street with lots of small cottages and semi-detached dwellings.
Charles Street was part of the 1883 subdivision of Beer's Estate.
By the 1914 auction of the Addison Estate some of the lots remained unsold.

No 4 is a small Californian bungalow (c.1920) with leadlight in the central panel of a three panel casement window.
