Surrey Street is shown on this 1905 subdivision of Norwod Park.
Subdivision plans for Surrey Street have not been located but it can be assumed from adjacent streets that subdivision would have occurred around 1900. An adjacent street, Essex Street appears to have been subdivided at the same time.

No 5 is an unusual Californian bungalow with convex leadlight in a small window and in the fan light of a three panel casement window.
