Greenbank Street
Main Period: Victorian - Federation - Interwar
Leadlight apparent at No’s 1, 3, 14, 16 & 18.
Residential subdivision in Greenbank Street commenced in 1882 with seven lots on the southern side auctioned in 1882. The plan of the 1909 Marrickville Station Estate indicates that a few houses had been erected in the intervening years. As a result, the street is a mixture of Victorian and early Federation houses with a few Interwar Californian Bungalows.
Greenbank Street
No 1 is a Federation house with (c.1905) with leadlight in the front door panels and in the fanlight above the front door. If this is original, it is wonderful. If it is a reproduction it is also wonderful.
