HURLSTONE PARK

Hardy Street

Main Period: Federation - Interwar

Leadlight apparent at No’s 34, 38, 40, 42, 46, 54, 56, 66 & 72

Hardy Street is quite a long street but only a few blocks on the eastern side are actually in Hurlstone Park. While there are many houses from the Federation era and through to the late 1920's only No 54 has a heritage listing. Only a relatively small number of the houses have retained their original leadlight.

Housing development in Hardy Street took place over an extended period of time from the 1890's through to the construction of blocks of flats in the late 1930's.

Hardy Street

No 34 is a Federation house (c.1913) with leadlight in the front door panel and in the sidelight that has a great Art Nouveau look about it.
