DULWICH HILL
Constitution Road
Main Period: Victorian - Federation - Interwar
Leadlight apparent at No’s 25, 27a, 31, 33, 38a & 42.
It would be reasonable to assume that Constitution Road was created around the time of Federation but Constitution Road is clearly marked on the Summer Hill Petersham View Estate of 1880. Constitution Road is an interesting street. Development has taken place from as early as 1880 and there are some wonderful old Victorian homes together with single story terraces, two storey terraces together with some modest cottages from the Federation years interspersed with a few Californian bungalows from the 1920’s.

Constitution Road
No 25 is an early Californian bungalow (c.1920) with leadlight in a small window on the verandah and in a three panel casement window partly concealed by shrubs. The casement window is unique because of the angled sash bars in the outer panels and the rather delicate design in the leadlight.
