HURLSTONE PARK

Mount Street

Main Period: Federation - Interwar

Leadlight apparent at No’s 6, 11, 18 & 18A, 28, 30, 29 & 31, 30, 32, 33 & 35

Lots in Mount Street were auctioned in 1898 and the variety of housing that exists in the street is a result of building that commenced at the end of the Victorian period through to the early and mid-Federation periods with an few interwar semi-detached dwellings. While Mount Street is in Hurlstone Park it appears to have been created for the Mountside Ashfield Heights subdivision and some of the lots still have extensive views.

Mount Street is described as being in Ashfield Heights.

Mount Street

No 6 is a very modified late Federation house (1920) that has leadlight in the front door panels and in the fan light. The leadlight is not original and is an example of a sensitive application of some second hand/reused doors.
