ASHFIELD

Pyrmont Street

Main Period: Federation - Interwar

Leadlight apparent at No’ s 4 & 9

Pyrmont Street is a short street with a rather eclectic range of buildings. Some subdivision took place in the 1890’s and the buildings reflect this. A later subdivision occurred in 1912 and there are a few houses that have retained some of the feel of these times.

It’s worth having a look at No 7 ‘Meseta’ and though it does not have leadlight it is quite a quirky Italianate style house.

The front door panels and fanlight at No 4 are a beautiful example of Federation leadlight.
